The Presidency has refuted claims of a strained relationship between President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
Shettima’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Stanley Nkwocha, emphasised the Vice President’s integral role in the administration, stating that Shettima enjoys Tinubu’s “total confidence and full support.”
Nkwocha dismissed rumours of discord as baseless, characterising the Vice President as a loyal and active member of the administration.
In a statement commemorating Shettima’s 58th birthday, Nkwocha labelled the allegations “illogical conspiracy theories” that misrepresent the reality within the Presidential Villa.

The statement underscored Shettima’s unwavering loyalty to President Tinubu. “In a political landscape where loyalty is often tested, Vice President Shettima stands out as a beacon of dedication and commitment to his principal, President Bola Tinubu,” Nkwocha stated.
He further described Shettima’s support as “heartfelt and genuine,” referencing Shettima’s recent praise of Tinubu as a “good soul” and a trustworthy leader.
Reports that Shettima has been marginalised are, according to Nkwocha, “the direct opposite of what is happening here in Aso Rock.” He stressed Shettima’s important contributions as the administration takes shape, highlighting his zeal, experience, and knowledge in backing the president’s vision for Nigeria.
