The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, NASENI has reinstated its commitment to actualise its vision to become the Nation’s leading industrial and innovation hub of the 21st century.
The Agency’s research council team made this known on Wednesday during a working visit to the Electronics Development Institute (ELDI), Awka Anambra State.
The team serves as an advisory body set up on the instance of the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the agency to actualise its vision anchored on 3Cs principles of Collaboration, Creation and Commercialisation.
Representing the Team, Dr. Patrick Okwu appreciated the EVC for initiating the advisory board. He acknowledged EVC’s efforts in prioritising the welfare of the staff, describing his welfare interventions as life saving.
He said; “Dr. Okwue EVC has achieved a lot of collaborations tailored for the overall good of the agency.
“Every development institute should have finished products for commercialisation in order to generate revenues for the agency.
Speaking on the progress of the Electronics Development Institute Dr. Okwu said that the institute has achieved tremendous progress under the Overseeing Officer, Engr. Dr. Oluwaseyi Ogungbenro, adding that the institute has continued to be relevant and is being intentional about the products to produce and commercialize.
He urged the Overseeing Officer to collaborate and synergize with other heads of institutes for effectiveness
Welcoming the team, Ogungbenro appreciated the EVC’s leadership describing it as innovative and effective.
Ogungbenro listed the products developed and ready to be marketed.
“The institute would continue to make the agency proud, the Overseeing Officer pleaded for improved availability of funds for the smooth running of the institute, ” he noted.
He stated that the institute’s 5W bulb remains one of the best in the market and that ELDI has just completed the production of over 20,000 pieces.
He emphasised that the institute is presently collaborating with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) for publicity which is aimed at generating revenues for the agency.
Highlighting other institute’s finished products, Dr. Ogungbenro listed Naseni solar generator (1KVA), Automated Poultry Management System, Electronics Science Trainer, Electronics Compact Medical Testing System, VIP Lounge Table Wireless Phone Charger, Phone Charger, Solar Lighting System among others.
