The Igbo people in the central axis of Kogi State have lauded Governor Usman Ododo over his victory at the Supreme Court which upheld his election, saying it was a victory well deserved.
The Igbo association under the leadership of Chief Joe Anikwe in a statement signed by him, the president general described Ododo’s administration as an inclusive one having carried along all the three senatorial districts in the state in its appointments and developmental agenda.
The statement, however, called on the governor to consider some Igbo indigenes for appointment in his cabinet, especially within the central axis of the state where the governor hails from, saying the association members all went out to mobilize votes in the November 11 governorship election for the governor.
While describing Governor Ododo as an astute administrator and easygoing man who has the fear of God, Chief Anikwe said within his short stay in office, Kogi people have begun to feel the positive impact of the governor in every aspect of life
The statement said with the victory, the governor should now move all out to embark on an aggressive transformation of the state with legacy projects in all three senatorial districts, adding that there should be no more distractions.
“We believe that the governor is the father of us all, he should therefore do all he can to draw closer the opposition and indeed all stakeholders including the Igbo community to move the state forward
“We the Igbo People Association in the central senatorial district of the state under my humble leadership, Chief Joe Anikwe hereby reaffirm our loyalty and commitment to the governor to continue to be law-abiding and promote the socio-economic development of the state.
“We use this opportunity to pray for the governor for good health, more wisdom and strength to be able to carry out his good plans for the state,” the statement added.
