The Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Noimot Salako, has lauded The Collectives Club of Remo for their various developmental projects especially those bothering on community health, as exemplified in their 2024 Free Health Screening Week.
The initiative, aimed at enhancing the well-being of residents, was held from August 20th to 23rd, 2024, at the Collectives Clubhouse in GRA Sagamu, with the support of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH).
During the event, which was officially inaugurated by the Deputy Governor, she praised The Collectives Club for their long-standing commitment to community health, noting their significant impact over the past decade. Engr. Salako expressed her gratitude to the club and its healthcare partners, highlighting their role in ensuring the health of the Remo community remains a top priority.
Speaking, Wole Ogunsaya, President of The Collectives Club of Remo, reaffirmed the club’s commitment to annual health screenings, emphasizing the collective effort behind the program.
“This initiative represents more than just a personal endeavor; it is a testament to the collective dedication of our members. We are proud to mark our tenth year and remain committed to its continuation,” Ogunsaya stated.
The health screening event offered a comprehensive range of services, including blood tests, medical consultations, dental checks, malaria and diabetes tests, eye exams, cholesterol screenings, free medications, and reading glasses. Additionally, the program included preliminary assessments for free cataract surgery.
Ogunsaya acknowledged the significant resources required to organize the event, including financial contributions and the importation of medications, but stressed that the welfare of the community remains the primary focus.
Beneficiaries expressed their appreciation and extended prayers for The Collectives Club and all contributors to the initiative. The program not only provided essential health services but also fostered a culture of health awareness and community engagement.
The event was attended by prominent members of The Collectives Club, including Barrister Wale Ajetunmobi, Chairman of the Collectives Health Week; Alhaji Saka Tajudeen, Patron; Mr. Teju Ogunjimi, Social Secretary; Engineer Bankole Kalejaiye; and Alhaji Tayo Rabiu. Also present were local dignitaries such as the Elepe of Epe, Oba Adewale Olumuyiwa Osiberu; the Radanuwa of Idado, Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile; Dr. Oluwabunmi Motunrayo Fatungase, Chief Medical Director of OOUTH; and Otunba Taofeek Sokoya Danku.
