The Minister of State, Police Affairs, Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim has harped on the need for collaboration, professionalism, community policing and continuous capacity building for a better and safer society.
Suleiman Ibrahim stated this while addressing officers and members of POWA, Abia State Chapter, at the Abia state police command headquarters, Umuahia.
“I stand here to emphasize on the importance of collaboration, professionalism, community policing, and continuous capacity building for a better and safer society.”
The Minister was on an official visit to Abia State, where she engaged in several key activities aimed at enhancing community policing and the welfare of the Nigeria Police Force.
During her visit, she inspected the Police Clinic and Police Children’s School. She equally attended the Renewed Hope Town Hall Meeting held at the International Conference Centre in Umuahia.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Mrs. Nkiru Onyejeocha; the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, who was represented by the Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Kenechukwu Onwuemelie.
Others include the National Chairman Police Community Relation Committee (PCRC), Alhaji Mogaji Ibraheem Olaniyan, along with other zonal and state PCRC coordinators, Local Government Mayors of Abia State, the Chairman of the Abia State Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Linus Nto Mba, and the Chairperson Police Officer’s Wives Association ( POWA), Abia State Chapter, Mrs. Okoro Ihuoma among others.
