President Bola Ahmed Tinubu alongside his vice, Kashim Shettima and National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has been tasked to host young Nigerians at the 2024 Progressive Young Leaders Submit (PYLS) which will be held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The three days event whose 2nd edition is slated for September 3rd to 5th, 2024, will witness a keynote by Tinubu while various ministerial town hall sessions will be observed by dynamic young executives.
Speaking ahead of the annual summit themed “Shaping the future we want: from restiveness to inclusion, action and development”, APC national youth leader, Dr. Dayo Israel hinted the submit is a crucial step in ensuring the voices of young Nigerians are not only heard but also play a vital role in shaping the nation’s development agenda.
In his words: “ This year’s Summit is dedicated to channeling the energy and aspirations of young Nigerians towards building a future that embodies their collective dreams. Hosted by ruling party – The All Progressives Congress, the Summit will convene a distinguished gathering of Nigerian public and private sector leaders, government officials, policymakers, and dynamic young executives.
“The event aims to bridge the gap between youth and government, foster intergenerational dialogue, and provide a platform for young Nigerians to actively engage with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu. It will feature a series of ministerial township hall sessions where participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with government leaders on critical issues such as education, technology, economic development, and institutional reforms, with a focus on integrating actionable solutions into the administration’s policy frameworks.”
Revealing further about the event billed for over 3,000 youths across the nation, Dayo stated all hands are on deck to ensure the summit inspire young people to take ownership of the Renewed Hope Agenda and work collectively towards its realization.
“ We believe this event will inspire young people to take ownership of the Renewed Hope Agenda and work collectively towards its realization. The summit is free to attend, registration is mandatory, with over 3,000 participants expected from across the nation. PYLS 2024 promises to be a transformative event where the voices of Nigeria’s youth will resonate strongly. Discussions will cover a broad range of topics, including job creation, youth inclusion, technology, communication, and tackling inequality. This Summit is designed to ensure that young Nigerians are not just observers but active contributors to the formation of a new Nigeria under the Renewed Hope Agenda. By the end of the Summit, it is expected that young leaders will be empowered to take concrete steps towards realizing the Nigeria of our dreams. We invite all young Nigerians to join us for this historic event,” he stated.
