Counsel to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has stated that, given the on-going activities in Nigeria, it has become clear that the country is under serious threat.
Ejiofor, in a statement issued on Friday, and made available to Saturday Sun, decried what he described as an unfortunate situation that Nigerians are not paying attention to the danger awaiting the country.
Though one out of three jets has been released, Ejiofor described the temporary seizure of the Nigerian presidential jets undergoing maintenance in Paris as an internal disgrace.
“We are no longer under any illusion that Nigeria’s sovereignty is under serious threat, amid mounting debt concerns. Unfortunately, Nigerians are not paying commensurate attention to this impending disaster.
“On August 15, 2024, three presidential aircraft undergoing maintenance in Paris were temporarily seized in strict compliance with a court order. What an international disgrace!
The unfortunate reality is that with the Nigerian government’s growing habit of excessive and reckless borrowing, it is increasingly likely that we may one day wake up to find Nigeria’s assets and the entire nation tied to foreign judgments. It is only a matter of time,” he stated.
