Two men, Mr. Bright Ossai and Mr. Izagwu Obodo, have been sentenced to death by hanging by the Kwale High Court in Delta State, presided over by Justice F. O. Enenmo.
Ossai was convicted of armed robbery after stealing a motorcycle at gunpoint on Owessi Street, Kwale.
He was apprehended following a police response to the victim’s alarm. Another stolen motorcycle, sold to Mr. Ebele Pius, was also recovered.
Ossai received the death penalty, while Pius was sentenced to 10 years in prison or a fine of N500,000.
In a separate case , Mr. Izagwu Obodo was found guilty of murdering Nonso Dibia by shooting him on August 21, 2021, in Umu Itching.
The prosecution, led by C. O. Onoberhie-Oberuomo, presented three witnesses and various exhibits. Justice Enenmo sentenced Obodo to death by hanging.

In another case, Chukwu Ijeoma was convicted of raping Nwachukwu Chioma Precious on January 4, 2021, in Aboh.
Justice Enenmo sentenced him to 21 years in prison with hard labor. The prosecution was also led by Onoberhie-Oberuomo, Assistant Director in the Ministry of Justice, Asaba.
In a different case, Ugochukwu Ashiwe was convicted of attempted murder after stabbing Ndoka Okolocha with a broken bottle on October 31, 2020, in Kwale.
Justice Enenmo sentenced him to 25 years in prison. The prosecution presented two witnesses, while the defendant testified and called one witness.
In another case prosecuted by Mrs. Oberuomo, Chukwueneku Opute was found guilty of defiling Ejeruku Esther on March 15, 2022, in Ashaka. Justice Enenmo sentenced him to 10 years in prison with hard labor.
Finally, in the case of The State vs. Egoyibo Ugbomem, Egoyibo was initially charged alongside her daughter, Chioma Egbumem, for the murder of Chukwemeka Nkere on August 29, 2021.
She had reported the incident as a suicide, but an autopsy revealed a force-burn injury on the chest wall. Egoyibo testified in her defense and called two witnesses. Justice Enenmo sentenced her to 21 years in prison with hard labor, with the sentence beginning from the date of her arrest.
