At a press conference in Kano, the CP said following the directive by the Inspector General of Police, IGP, the Command “worked diligently and professionally towards addressing the aftermath” of the hunger protest that turned violent in Kano and other Northern states.
According to him, the efforts of the police resulted in the arrest of 873 suspects and recovery of a large quantity of exhibits.
The CP also announced the “arrest and prosecution of 150 suspects for violating the curfew enforced by the Kano State government”.
