Former Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Dumebi Kachikwu, has stated that it is time for Nigerians to move from the policies of blame game to solutions roundtable.
Making this known at a news conference in Abuja, he lamented that Nigerians were fond of dwelling on blame games, listing of the nation’s problems, instead of seeking for possible solutions.
He added that he would hold physical town hall meetings across the country, where discussion would be held on solutions to the current economic situation.
Kachikwu explained that the “Let’s Talk Solutions Roundtables” would comprise of the government and Nigerians, to discuss on the problems and define expectations from the government and wealthy Nigerians.
His words: “We are big on the blame game, big on identifying problems but low on proffering solutions. Why? Because we can’t score political points with solutions in a nation that is intoxicated with the nectar of problems.
Solutions will never go viral on social media. We need to leave the streets now and head to the solutions roundtable. We are in a quagmire and what do we do?’ should be the only question on our lips.”
The ADC presidential candidate stressed that the government is not an all-knowing organ. So, the masses need to speak out on what should be done to have a nation that would work for all.
He added that the issues of tribe and ethnicity have really affected the growth of the nation.
“We need a new Nigeria where there is no place for tribe and ethnicity, it is too difficult to move Nigeria forward with this huge sentiment,” Kachikwu added.
He emphasized the need for Nigerians to rise about sentiments and work together for a better nation
