A 17-year-old boy has been electrocuted in Lagos.
The boy whose name was not immediately ascertained as at press time,was assisting his step farther in electrical work in a building site when the tragedy occurred.
Lagos State Police Public Relations officer(PPRO) SP Benjamin Hundyin, confirmed the electrocution of the boy, whose name was not given as at press time .
Hundeyin said that the mother of the boy, reported the case to Agbado Police Division on August 2, at 1.00 p.m.
The PPRO, said that the woman reported that at about 12.30 p.m on the same day, she received a phone call from her younger brother about the incident.
“According to the woman, her brother said her son followed her husband (his step-father), a welder by profession to build a scaffolding in a building under construction at Church Street, Alagbado.
“In the process of work, the boy stepped on life wire that was carelessly connected from electric pole and he died on the spot.
“He was rushed to the hospital and was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty. The scene was visited by a team of detectives from the division.
“The corpse has been removed from the scene. However, no mark of violence was seen. The step father has been brought to the station for questioning. Investigation is ongoing,” he said.
