Former Governor of Plateau State and Chief Joshua Chibi Dariye has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR for appointing Chief Ayuba Burki Gufwan as the Executive Secretary National Commission for People With Disabilities (NCPWD) and Hon. Saad Ibrahim Bello as a Federal Commissioner representing Plateau State at the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
Gufwan, until his appointment, was the executive director of the Beautiful Gates Handicapped People Centre. Both appointees are illustrious sons of Plateau State.
He praised President Tinubu for the good choices made and expressed optimism that the appointee will serve the nation meticulously and add immense value to the present administration.
Dariye, who was the senator that represented Plateau Central Zone in the 7th and 8th in a congratulatory message described the appointments as square pegs in square holes.
He said the appointments are well-deserved considering their separate impacts to humanity and the Nation at large.
According to the elder statesman, Gufwan a renowned philanthropist has over the Years made remarkable impacts in the lives of the less privileged especially widows, orphans and persons living with disabilities.
He said that Chief Burki, as he is popularly referred to, has touched lives significantly across the Nation.
“Burki has demonstrated that disability is not a death sentence but a condition that can be effectively used to impact the World positively. He is a humanitarian Expert and a great philanthropist who has achieved a lot.
“This appointment give me great joy being the first to establish a Commission for People With Disabilities in the Country when I was the Executive Governor of Plateau State”
He also lauded the achievements of Hon. Sa’ad Ibrahim Bello in the various offices he held in the past which include Member of the Plateau State House of Assembly for Wase Constituency/Deputy Majority Leader, Commissioner Plateau State Ministry of Water Resources and Energy as well as the Regional Director National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
He said the Appointee served Plateau State and Nigeria diligently.
He urged the Appointees not to betray the trust reposed in them by the President, but see their appointments as the will of God and work to justify the confidence placed on them with exceptional performance.
While wishing them the very best throughout their period in office, he charged them to be good ambassadors of Plateau State and make a difference in their respective offices.
