The Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Osun State has concluded arrangements to present award of excellence to all the former Governors of the state and the incumbent Governor, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke.
The former Governors who have been shortlisted for the award are Chief Bisi Akande, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Mr Rauf Aregbesola and Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola.
The IPAC chairman in the state, Pastor Victor Akande said the former Governors deserve the recognition considering their services to the state when they held away as Governors.
Akande said the awards will be presented during the IPAC Day which will hold on December 5, 2024 in Osogbo, the state capital.
Also, he hinted that the first executive Governor of the state, Alhaji Isiaka Adeleke will also receive a post humorous award, while his younger brother and incumbent Governor of the state, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke will also be honoured.
He said “When we considered their sterling attributes and the great contributions as governors, we felt they deserve our honour so as to serve as an encouragement for the coming generations.
“As administrators par excellence and politicians of repute, these men did their best in turning around the business, economic, social and political scenario of Osun State.
“During their times, they rendered impeccable services that touched the lives of the people of the state in a remarkable way and history will forever be grateful to them.
“Some of them have proven their integrity as good ambassadors of Osun State at the federal level and we need to let them know that we are monitoring them closely,” he added.
