Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani said on Tuesday that the government will continue to monitor the security situation while working with security agencies to maintain the safety of lives and properties.
Arogidigba Global Journal recalls that the state government imposed a 24-hour curfew in Zaria and Kaduna on Monday afternoon, sensing that criminals have started looting the shops and destroying other valuables.
Governor Sani, who wrote on his verified Facebook page on Tuesday, said he went round the two cities with heads of security agencies and government officials to assess the level of damage. He urged residents to always comply with the 24-hour curfew.
“Today, together with heads of security agencies and top government officials, I went round Kaduna metropolis to assess the level of compliance with the 24-hour curfew and to carry out on-the-spot assessment of the damage done to private and public properties as well as looting by criminal elements during the last protest.
“We feel the pain of our citizens at this difficult moment but I urge them to continue to comply fully with the curfew. We shall continue to monitor the security situation while working with security agencies to maintain the safety of lives and properties,” he said.
