Suspected Boko Haram bomber has detonated explosives in a Borno community, killing no fewer than 16 people.
A female suicide bomber reportedly plunged into a market at Malari, Kawuri in Konduga Local Government Area last Wednesday, causing explosion that led to the death of 16 people.
Borno Commissioner of Information and Internal Security, Usman Tar,confirmed the incident to journalists in Maiduguri.
Tar said, “A Boko Haram terrorist attacked a village, Malari in Konduga Local Government, killing 16 people, while over 20 people were injured in the attack. The injured are receiving treatment in a public hospital.
“The incident was not discovered early at the state capital due to the remoteness of the area and breakdown of telecommunication facilities in the area.”
