Despite warnings and concerns, the Nigeria Patriotic Front Movement (NPFM) has reiterated its commitment to holding a 10-day nationwide protest starting tomorrow.
The protest aims to express displeasure over the maltreatment of Nigerians and the myriad of challenges facing the country.
Addressing press conference on Tuesday in Kano, NPFM spokesperson, Comrade Abdulmagid Yakubu Daudu, emphasised that protest is a fundamental right enshrined in the Nigerian constitution. He outlined guidelines for the protest, including:
– Meeting points and procession routes
– Daily schedule (6:00 am – 6:00 pm)
– Emphasis on unity and focus on the regime, ruling class, and corporate allies
– Prohibition of hate speech, weapons, and violence
Daudu stressed that the protest would be peaceful and decentralised, with solidarity messages from various groups.
He also acknowledged the peculiarities of the region in crafting the guidelines.
