The Caretaker Chairman of Iwo Local Government Chairman, Hon. Moshood Adekunle popularly known as Irorun has resigned from his position following the judgement of the Supreme Court.
In a statement on Wednesday, Adekunle expressed his gratitude to the state governor and the people of Iwo Local Government for their support during his tenure.
He assured that he will continue to serve the community in other capacities when called upon in the future.
Adekunle’s resignation is aimed at upholding the rule of law and respecting the Supreme Court’s judgment.
He has pledged to support the Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, and the development of Iwo Local Government in any way possible.

According to him, “It is with all sense of duty and respect for our democratic principles that I write to tender my resignation from my position as Chairman of the Caretaker Committee for Iwo Local Government, effective immediately.
“As I move on to pursue further opportunities to serve my people, I want to assure you that the good work I have started will not end.
“I remain committed to supporting Osun State Governor under the leadership of Senator Ademola Adeleke and the development of Iwo Local Government in any capacity I can. It has been an honour to serve, and I am proud of the progress we have made together”, he said.
