The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Alhaji Ahmed Ododo, has said that he will sustain and improve the decades-long cordial and harmonious relationship between Kogi and Benue indigenes.
Governor Ododo, who stated this when he paid traditional homage to the Tor Tiv, Chief James Ayatse, in Gboko, Benue State, said both states have enduring historical affinities that cannot be erased.
Represented by the Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Salifu, Alhaji Ododo said the relationship with the people of Benue will continue to remain cordial, stressing that the Benue people are peace-loving, hospitable, and hard-working.
He praised the monarch for the warm reception and prayed to God to grant His Royal Majesty good health and vitality.
The governor, who said the prayers of his royal Majesty, Chief James Ortube Ayatse, will spur him to do more for all diasporans to thrive in their legitimate vocation in the state, said the kingdom of the monarch has produced geniuses, stressing that the people of Benue State are good people and hospitable.
Earlier, The Tor Tiv V, His Royal Majesty, Chief James Ortube Ayatse, commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his landmark achievements in such a short time in office, stressing that the activities of the government of Kogi State are heard in Benue and urging him to sustain the tempo.
The Monarch expressed gratitude to Governor Ododo for sending a high-powered delegation to Benue State, led by the Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Salifu.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, Mr Thomas Offor, and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Ethics and Values, Shiek Sani Musa, accompanied the Deputy Governor on the visit.
