A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) and former official photographer to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and late Kudirat Abiola, Pa Stephen Adebayo, has commended the president for the creation of Livestock Development Ministry and cancellation of tariffs on major foodstuffs, describing the move as laudable and worthwhile.
Adedayo gave this commendation on Wednesday in a statement made to newsmen, expressing optimism about Nigeria’s future with the step taken to address the high cost of foodstuffs in the country.
This was just as he predicted more significant developments that would benefit the nation, saying that the creation of the new ministry, among others was just the beginning.
“These developments are just the beginning of a series of positive changes that will impact the country. They are ‘jokers’ that will bring immense benefits to Nigeria,” the elder statesman said.
Pa Adedayo, while outlining the potential benefits of the fresh decision of the Tinbu-led administration, said such would help boost agricultural production, reduce food prices, and increase access to affordable nutrition for Nigerian citizens.
He said the move would create jobs, stimulate economic growth in the livestock and food processing sectors, boost exports, and thereby generate significant revenue for the country.
Besides, the APC chieftain added that the step would help in attracting foreign investment in the agricultural sector, and further strengthen the economy, saying that it would equally enhance Nigeria’s food security and reduce reliance on imports.
“The establishment of the Livestock Development Ministry and cancellation of tariffs on major foodstuffs would help in creating jobs and stimulating economic growth in the livestock and food processing sectors.
“It would help in boosting agricultural production and exports, generating significant revenue for the country. It is also aimed at creating jobs and stimulating economic growth in the livestock and food processing sectors,” he said.
“Enhancing Nigeria’s food security and reducing reliance on imports as well as attracting foreign investment in the agricultural sector, and thereby further strengthening the country’s economy is achievable with the fresh decision taken by the government,” he added.
