Bauchi State Government has approved the construction and rehabilitation of Seventeen new rural and urban roads across the state in an effort to enhance the quality of lives of the citizens.
Similarly, it has directed that henceforth, all lands allocations within and outside the state capital shall be approved by the State Executive Governor inline with Bauchi State Land Use Act 2022 as amended.
These were part of the resolutions made during the State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Bala Mohammed.
Briefing Journalists after the meeting, the Commissioner of Works and Transport, Ibrahim Gambo Galadima said that the roads construction project mostly in the state capital are in addition to the ongoing ones under Governor Bala Mohammed’s rural and urban renewal initiative.

On her part, the Commissioner, Ministry of Lands and Survey, Hajiya Amina Katagum said that the Council has ratified and approved for Streets naming and house numbering in all parts of the state to enable the state to be aligned with the global base practice.
According to Amina Katagum, the move was also aimed at facilitating provision of basic amenities to households and enhancing security of lives and properties.
Other memos approved during the Council meeting included reversing the operations of Yankari Transport Corporation from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to Ministry of Works and Transport, moving the Federal Medical Center Azare to Misau as well as introduction of the State Emergency Services and Ambulance System to take effective care of accident victims along the major roads across the state.
