The Jigawa government has declared Monday, July 8, 2024, a work-free day to mark the new Islamic Year 1446 AH.
This announcement is contained in a statement signed and issued by the State Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri, and made available to the Online Tribune in Dutse, the state capital.
The Head of the Civil Service said the government declared the day a public holiday to allow the working class to join others in celebrating the Islamic New Year.

Alhaji Muhammad Dagaceri advised workers and citizens of the state to pray for continued peace and prosperity.
The government urged the people of the state to reflect on and live their lives based on the teachings of Islam and the practices of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
It also urged the people to continue to be law-abiding and shun any acts that could cause a breach of the peace in the state.
