In a commendable effort to enhance educational access, the Youth Circle for Social Development (YCSD) has launched its “100 Children Back to School” initiative. The organization visited LGEA Primary School in Ogele, Asa Local Government of Kwara State, and paid the school levies for 30 pupils.
The Assistant Headmaster of LGEA Primary School, Ogele, praised the initiative, stating, “This is a wonderful effort that will help students focus more in class, as the school will no longer have to send them away for non-payment of fees.” He expressed his gratitude for YCSD’s support, highlighting its positive impact on the students’ academic experience.
Mr. Ilyas Balogun, the class teacher of some beneficiaries, added, “The parents will be very happy when they learn their children’s school fees have been paid by the Youth Circle. We appreciate the organization for the wonderful job well done.”
Abdullahi Loke, the Lead Advocate of YCSD, emphasized that this event marks just the beginning of the “100 Children Back to School” campaign. He promised that the organization would continue its efforts until they are fully satisfied with the project’s impact.
This initiative not only aims to ease the financial burden on parents but also supports UNESCO’s research, which states, “We need to enroll a student every 2 seconds between now and 2030 if countries are to achieve their targets.” With over 250 million children out of school worldwide, YCSD’s efforts contribute to addressing this global crisis, one student at a time.
Join YCSD in supporting this cause and making a difference in the lives of these children, fostering a brighter future for our community and beyond.
