In furtherance of its willpower to see to the well timed implementation of the small and medium enterprises part of the presidential palliative grants and loans, the Home Committee on SME led by its Chairman, Hon Mansur Manu Soro, on Friday, met with the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of Financial system, Mr Wale Edun, to establish the extent of funding and releases made to implementing MDAs.
The Home Committee had beforehand met with different officers, together with the Honourable Minister of Business, Commerce and Funding, Mrs Doris Anite, Accountant Common of the Federation and DG/CEO of SMEDAN, Mr. Charles Odii on this regard.
In line with Aleeyu Darazo, Private Assistant, New Media to the Committee Chairman on SME, “the tenth Home of Representatives below the management of Rt Hon Tajudden Abass locations excessive premium on SME improvement, therefore its resolution to create a standing committee on SME to make sure efficient oversight of the SME actions and packages of line MDAs.”
He mentioned the presidential palliative grants and loans which is available in three tranches of N50,000 grants to 1million nano companies, N100,000 – N1million and N75billion to producers are due for disbursement anytime quickly.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu directed for the implementation of palliatives to cushion the consequences of the elimination of petrol subsidy throughout the agricultural, transportation, social security and SME sectors of the financial system in July 2023.
Subsequently, the Home of Representatives in its decision mandated its committee on SME to interface with officers of presidency accountable to make sure well timed and efficient implementation of the palliative.
