The immediate past Minister of State for Transportation, Prince Ademola Adegoroye, has lauded President Bola Tinubu and Governor Lucky Ayadatiwa for headhunting qualified technocrats in Ondo State into various federal appointments in the country.

Adegoroye, who stated this during a dinner organised for a diverse group of stakeholders, including All Progressives Congress (APC), chieftains, new appointees, family members, and party leaders at his residence in Akure, said the appointments attest to the commitment of the President and the governor to good governance and service delivery in the country.

The former Minister, however, pledged his unwavering support for the APC, promising to work tirelessly to ensure the party’s victory in the upcoming governorship elections in the state.

He stressed the importance of unity and cooperation among party members, urging the appointees to work together to ensure the success of the APC in the upcoming elections, adding that the move would go a long way to actualise this objective.

He specifically urged indigenes of Akure who were recently appointed to various positions in the state and federal government not to betray the confidence reposed in them, charging them to work tirelessly towards the collective interest of Akure youths and to utilize their positions to facilitate employment and development in the community.

In his remarks at the event, the Special Guest of Honour, the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, lauded Adegoroye for his unprecedented achievements including the award and take off of the construction of Akure Ado road, the approval of the Ondo Deep seaport and numerous job placement for Akure and Ondo State indigenes within 10 months as Minister.

The monarch expressed his admiration for  Adegoroye’s initiative in organizing the reception and announced his intention to host a similar event to honour indigenes of the state capital on their appointment, a move that was widely applauded by the guests.

The event was seen as a strategic move by Adegoroye to strengthen ties with Akure appointees and to build a united front for the APC in the community. It was also a demonstration of his commitment to the development and empowerment of Akure youths.

The appointees, which include Prof Olu Aderounmu, Chairman, Governing Council and Pro-Chancellor, Federal University, Kachere, Gombe State; Hon Sunday Abegunde, Executive Director, NDDC; Hon Omowunmi Ohwovoriole, Member of Council, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Hon Temitayo Oluwatuyi, Secretary to the Government of Ondo State, Pastor Ayo Babalola, Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor on Lands, Housing and Infrastructure and Hon Gbenga Olaniyi, Hon Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ondo State.

The reception was attended by prominent APC leaders, including Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, Hon. Stephen Abitogun, Dr S.B Akerele, and Hon. Sunday Olajide, among others. It was marked by speeches, presentations, and goodwill messages, with guests praising Adegoroye’s leadership and vision.

Overall, the reception was a resounding success, highlighting Adegoroye’s commitment to the APC and his determination to promote unity and cooperation among party members. With this move, Adegoroye has further solidified his position as a leader in the APC and a champion of the people of Akure.
