A total of 3,110 Kano State pilgrims have arrived in Makkah, Saudi Arabia for the 2024 Hajj.
The pilgrims were received by officials of the Nigeria National Hajj Commission and the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board.
The Head of the Media Team for Kano State pilgrims and spokesperson of the Deputy Governor, Ibrahim Shuaibu, disclosed this in a statement made available to The Punch on Saturday.
Ibrahim said the pilgrims comprise both government-sponsored and privately sponsored individuals.
He said, “The officials of the board in Makkah, urged the pilgrims to conduct themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner throughout their stay in the holy city.
“The pilgrims will spend several days in Makkah performing various rituals, including circumambulating the Kaaba, praying at the Grand Mosque, and sacrificing animals.”
The Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and is considered a once-in-a-lifetime obligation for Muslims who are physically and financially able to perform.
