On Wednesday, the Labour Party (LP) candidate in the March 11, 2023, governorship election in Cross River State, Patriarch Ogar Osim, congratulated the governor of Cross River, Senator Bassey Otu, for the monumental achievements recorded by his government within the past year in office.
Osim, who is currently the state chairman of the Labour Party in the state, commended Governor Otu specifically for implementing the long-overdue promotion of civil servants, which has, in a profound way, positively impacted the workforce in the state.
In a letter of congratulations sent to the governor and signed by both himself and the LP State Publicity Secretary, Dr. Ofem Lekam, titled “365 Hearty Cheers to a Visionary and People’s Governor,” the opposition praised the governor’s remarkable accomplishments.
The letter reads in part: “As a party that advocates for social justice and good governance at all levels, Labour Party Cross River State attests that within the past year, Cross River State has continued to witness astronomical and extra-ordinary sustainable innovations that are impacting positively on infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, sports, environment, security, business, and human capital development.
“Appreciated also is your swift response to the House of Assembly impasse that would have plugged our state into an unnecessary distraction and political instability. Indeed, your government has recorded many achievements within these few days, and attempting to recount them all with just pen and paper will only leave us with an abridged testimony of a great impact that spans across politics and religion.
He encouraged the governor to keep up the good work in the upcoming years and asked for God’s continued guidance, protection, and blessings on his health, strength, and spiritual insight.
