A governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just concluded governorship primary of the party, Honourable Olugbenga Edema, has appealed to the people of the state to participate actively in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercises.
Edema who stated this in a statement signed by him, said the electorate’s power lies in their ability to elect the state’s next leader for the next four years, urging them to go out and participate in the CVR.
The former Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (OSOPADEC) emphasised that each vote matters and will have a direct impact on the outcome of the election.
Edema harped on the need for the electorate to obtain their voter cards and engage in the democratic process, saying this will allow every eligible voter to participate in the November governorship election in the state.
He stated that the people must endeavour to exercise their civic duty by getting involved in shaping the future of the state through the power of their votes, cautioning the people against compromising their votes for financial gains.
He urged the electorate to uphold the integrity of the electoral system by making informed decisions based on the candidates’ merits and their manifestos rather than succumbing to inducements that could undermine the democratic process.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday commenced Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in Ondo State ahead of the governorship election.
