In an effort to support security agencies in the fight against banditry, terrorism, kidnapping, and other related crimes, the Kaduna state government has donated 150 vehicles and 500 motorcycles to the military, police, and other security outfits in the state.
Speaking during the commissioning of the vehicles the Kaduna governor, Malam Uba Sani remarked that the safety and security of our citizens remains paramount.
He said, “It is our duty as a government to support the security agencies in carrying out their vital responsibilities. We recognize the challenges confronting our security personnel, especially in terms of mobility and swiftly accessing remote areas.
“Improved mobility means that security operatives can respond faster and more efficiently to distress calls.
To this end, he noted that the commissioning of the vehicles is not only about providing working tools, but it is about demonstrating their continued support to the security forces.it is about empowering our security personnel, showing them in their mission to protect and serve.
The governor also remarked that he has directed the Ministry of Internal Security to name the Ministry’s conference hall after Lt Colonel AH Ali who had served and contributed immensely to the security of Kaduna.
He said the late colonel had served as commanding officer,198 special forces battalion before he was transferred to South-South where he died with other soldiers in the course of defending the country.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the state commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan remarked that for the past year the governor, Uba Sani has continued to give unbroken focus to the security of its citizens.
He said today (Tuesday) the state will be commissioning 150 patrol vehicles and 500 motorcycles purchased by the Kaduna state government.
He also thanked the federal security agencies, saying, “We found in them steadfast and willing partners.
While performing the commissioning ceremony, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa said, “It is with great pleasure and gratitude that I stand before you today to mark a significant milestone in our journey towards enhancing the operational capabilities of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
“Today, we gather to commemorate the commissioning of the operational vehicles generously donated by the Kaduna State Government, in support of our noble mission to protect our nation and defend our people.
“I would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to the Kaduna State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Uba Sani, for the invaluable donation of these operational vehicles. This gesture of solidarity and support underscores the strong partnership between the armed forces and the government at both state and federal levels.
” The provision of these vehicles and motorcycles will undoubtedly bolster our operational readiness, enhance our mobility, and further strengthen our capacity to safeguard the security and sovereignty of our beloved country.
“I must also commend the dedication, professionalism, and sacrifice of our officers and soldiers who continue to serve with unwavering commitment and bravery.
” It is through their selfless efforts that we can uphold the principles of peace, security, and stability across our nation. The addition of these operational vehicles will not only facilitate our strategic mobility but also serve as a testament to the enduring spirit of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
“As we commission these operational vehicles today, let us recommit ourselves to the noble cause of defending our nation with honour and integrity.
