The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Thursday, organized a one-million-man solidarity march in support of President Bola Tinubu.
The event saw an amalgamation of President Tinubu’s supporters from various political divides within the state.
The “One Million-Man March” was held under the umbrella of the Rivers State Chapter of the “Renewed Hope Family” and was led by the Chairman of the APC Caretaker Committee, Chief Tony Okocha.
This demonstration aimed to showcase the widespread backing for President Tinubu and highlight the collective enthusiasm for his leadership among the state’s residents.
The solidarity march took off from the GRA junction on the Port Harcourt-Aba expressway with participants chanting and dancing in hundreds of groups that mobilised for the rally, through the ever-busy road down to between Market Junction and Ist Attelary area, terminating at the APC secretariat.
As early as 7:30 am throngs of participants had assembled at the GRA flyover taking over the roundabout and causing heavy traffic that compounded the already congested rush hour traffic.
The train later moved from there with different musical groups and drummers and participants displaying different Renewed Hope placards as they danced to the music.
At the APC secretariat, some leaders of the groups forming the amalgamation of the Renewed Hope family spoke on their continued support for the President, Bola Tinubu, the Rivers State APC under the chairmanship of Chief Okocha and the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, who they unanimously agreed to be the leader of the family in Rivers State, even though Still a member of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.
Speaking to the participants at the party secretariat, the chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the Rivers State APC Chief Tony Okocha said that the solidarity march was in support of President Tinubu and the Minister of FCT who he described as a number of the Renewed Hope family in Rivers State.
He described President Tinubu as the best thing that happened to Nigeria.

He said that the President had begun to upturn the political, economic, socio-cultural setbacks suffered by Nigeria in past 30-50 years
He said; “I’m of the opinion that the president who stepped in on the throne has been there barely one year. Can he possibly upturn the decay of 30-50 years in one year?
“So it’s a process and the process began the same day he took the oath of office. The President said then that one thing that eats up Nigeria and eats up our economy, is what we call the fuel subsidy. The President said the fuel subsidy was gone.
“Today, states, federal, and local governments are packing money in billions for development”.
He added that the ongoing coastal highway when completed would boost economic activities in the country and make Nigeria and industrial hub.
Okocha said; “I’m aware that the best and biggest project that will transverse the length and breath of Nigeria is being constructed under Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“The project is going to cost Nigeria N15- trillion. It will only take somebody like Tinubu who has a large heart. Somebody who is ready to smiles in the faces of Nigerians. No wonder his mantra is Renewed Hope.
“The coastal highway is not a promise, it’s ongoing. When that road is completed it’s going to transverse states and it’s going to boost economic activities in and make Nigeria the industrial hub of the world “.
Referring to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, he described him as the 001 in the Renewed Hope family in Rivers State saying he was responsible for the victory of Mr. President in the presidential election in Rivers State.
“That 001 is a reformer, that same man is the know-all and do all, that 001 is the leader Renewed Hope family in Rivers State. Most performing Minister of the Federal Republic”.
He described him as having the Midas touch, explaining that that was why they have been wooing him to come over to the APC.
Okacha said; “And if you people can remember, we have been begging him to come over to APC.
This is again one of those attempts to woo him to come over to APC and help us so that we continue to win elections for Mr. President, particularly, when elections come in 2027.”
