A one-year-old, Ace-Liam Nana Sam Ankrah from Ghana, has broken the Guinness World Record as the youngest male artist.
This was revealed on Guinness World Records’ X page on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
“At the age of one year and 152 days old, little Ace-Liam Nana Sam Ankrah from Ghana is the world’s youngest artist,” the post announced.
The young record breaker has created over 20 paintings since showing an interest in painting at six months old.
He participated in his first group exhibition, The Soundout Premium Exhibition, at the Museum of Science and Technology in Ghana.
At the exhibition, ten of his artworks were displayed and put up for sale, with nine of them being sold.
Tribune Online gathered that the toddler’s passion for painting was discovered at six months old by his mother, Chantelle, who is also an artist.
She explained, “While learning to crawl, I spread out a piece of unstretched canvas on the floor and dropped some paint on it as a way to keep him busy while I worked on a commission painting.”
“He ended up spreading the paint all over the canvas, and in the process, he created his first masterpiece titled ‘The Crawl.’ It was clear that he found a lot of joy in it.”
“He has created a buzz and heightened the conversation about art appreciation, as well as discovering and nurturing talents in kids.
It’s a fun and creative outlet for him, and he enjoys the freedom to explore and create without limitations.”
Chantelle also added that he started to request paints once he began to talk, showing his passion and interest in artistic activities.
Regarding the meaning behind his masterpieces, she explains that Ace-Liam’s art focuses more on expression and exploration rather than conveying specific messages.

“His abstract paintings are inspired by the world around him—colors, shapes, textures, and his mood. Each painting reflects his curiosity and joy in discovering new things,” she said.
GWR also revealed that Ace-Liam’s painting sessions are spontaneous and influenced by his mood.
After his painting area is prepared with canvases and paints, he enters his studio and selects the canvas size and colors he wants to use.
“Then he calls me to open the paint bottles for him and then he starts applying the paint on the canvas carefully yet spontaneously.
“A painting session can last anywhere from a few minutes to about half an hour, depending on his interest at the moment.
“Sometimes he leaves a painting and comes back to it after a couple of days to finish it.
“Once he’s done, he says ‘mama finish”, his mother, Chantelle added.
