Former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani on Wednesday suggested that northern leaders were not serious about addressing the security concerns of the region.
Sani made the statement after reports emerged that bandits killed 30 farmers in Zamfara and also 50 farmers in Plateau State.
In a post on his X handle, the former lawmaker pointed out that 12 governors were absent in the last meeting of the Northern Governors Forum, held in April, indicating lack of commitment.
He said: “Last week Bandits killed 30 farmers in Zamfara and this week terrorists slaughtered 50 farmers in Plateau State. In the last Northern Governors meeting held in April,12 Governors were absent. The leaders in the region are not serious about addressing the security concerns of the region.”
