The supporters of the former Governor of Imo State, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha have launched the ‘Rebuild Imo Movement,’ a campaign platform gearing up for the 2027 governorship election in Imo State.
This initiative comes shortly after Ihedioha’s departure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a party he co-founded.
Sir Stanley Ekezie, a staunch member of the Rebuild Imo Movement and a former national officer of the PDP, revealed this during the movement’s inaugural press conference in Owerri on Thursday.
He described the movement as a platform for strategizing and consolidating Ihedioha’s political ambitions in the state.
Ekezie, accompanied by other former PDP members who joined Ihedioha in the movement, emphasized that the Rebuild Imo Movement aims to collaborate with all well-meaning citizens of Imo State and organizations to promote and strengthen democracy in the state.
According to him, consultations have commenced and shall be further broadened to reach all shades of opinions and groups while adding that their rainbow movement will cover both the 27 LGAs and the three geo-political zones.
