A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, Chief Chikaodiri Ojimba, has eulogised Nigerian workers for their roles in the growth of the country.
Commending the Nigerian Workers for their sacrifice for the country, the PDP chieftain urged the workers to hold onto those values that encourage productivity in nation-building.
He made this known in a statement he signed and made available to Journalists in commemoration of the Workers Day Celebration.
Ojimba then commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving increments in the salaries of workers. According to him, the increment will help the workers tackle some of their challenges.
He also commended Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, for increasing workers’ salaries by 10 and 20 percentage and employment of 1,700 in civil service, adding that the employment will reduce unemployment in the state.
The statement reads ” I write to convey my sincere felicitations to the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), and all the workers in Ebonyi State, as they celebrate this year 2024 International Workers’ Day.

“I must say that Workers have lot of roles to play in the growth of a country and our Nigeria workers are always putting their best as an integral part of government. I urge them to remain partners in progress and continue to put in their best to move our country Nigeria to a greater part.
“Let me specially appreciate our visionary leader and Worker’s friendly Governor, the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Bldr Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, FNIOB, GGCEHF, for giving Ebonyi Workers so many reasons to celebrate. Today, the pensioners are celebrating, the Civil Servants are rejoicing. Thank you Your Excellency for all you are doing for Ebonyi Workers and Ebonyi State in general, may God almighty continue to reward you.
“I conclude by urging the Ebonyi Workers to continue to support the administration of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Bldr Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru to make Ebonyi the best State in Nigeria. May you underscore the fact that this worker’s day is also a call to be more dedicated in your various places of work, as His Excellency will not relent in making the welfare of Ebonyi workers a priority.”
