Nasarawa United head coach Adams Usman has expressed his joy after the team secured a place in the Nigeria National League Super Eight playoff.
The Solid Miners booked their place in the season-ending tournament after holding Zamfara United to a 1-1 draw on Saturday.
The Lafia club finished second on the Northern Conference Group A table behind El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri.
“I am overwhelmed because the people of Nasarawa State have always stood by us, especially the Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, his Deputy, Dr Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe, the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, the Supporters’ Club and the good people of the state,” Adams Usman said after the game.
“I am so happy that, at the end of the proceedings, we are able to get a slot to play in the Super Eight Play-off. This is a collective victory.”
Sokoto United, Sporting Supreme and Madiba FC are the other teams that have earned a spot in the Super Eight playoff.
