An Ibadan-based entrepreneur and Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Dotun Sanusi, has resisted an attempt to be drawn into the controversies of the 2027 governorship race in Oyo State.
He stated that he is not a card-carrying member of any of the registered political parties but a committed entrepreneur.
Sanusi, the Chairman of Ilaji Resorts and Hotel, as a businessman, had in 2023 supported the presidential ambition of Senator Bola Tinubu and the governorship ambition of Engineer Seyi Makinde, respectively.
His support for the actualization of the political ambitions of the two leaders, as contained in the statement, is without affiliation with any of the registered political parties.
He said, “Let me again reiterate my unwavering commitment to the welfare and advancement of the state.
My actions have always been driven by a desire for the continued development and progress of the state. And my philanthropic initiatives aim to improve the lives of people in the community, regardless of their political affiliations.
“I want to categorically reject any attempt to associate my name with political controversies or narratives that do not align with my principles and values. I want to also reaffirm my status as a man of integrity, guided by principles of honesty, fairness, and service to humanity.”
He, therefore, urged individuals engaging in speculations and conjectures to refrain from linking his name with their personal agenda, assuring the public that he would continue to uphold the values of integrity, transparency, and humility in all his endeavours.
Sanusi reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of the state through philanthropic initiatives and community development projects.
“God Almighty is the ultimate decider of who will attain any political height in life. The 2027 project has been committed to God’s hands, and I remain undaunted and resolute in meeting the yearnings of the good people of the state,” he added.
