Rivers United technical adviser Stanley Eguma has described his side’s victory over Katsina United as a “tough one”.
The Pride of Rivers defeated the Chanji Boys 2-0 in their rescheduled matchday 28 fixture on Thursday.
Deputy Echeta and Kazie Enyinnaya were on target for Rivers United in the game.
Eguma revealed that a change of tactics gave his team the victory in the game.
“This game was difficult,” he said in a post-match interview.
“The Katsina United team played a parked midfield and defence that was difficult to break.
“My players did their best, we had to change tactics for us to be able to break, getting one goal in the first half and in the second half we got the second goal.
“It was not an easy game. It was a really difficult game for us.”
Rivers United have recorded 40 points from 26 games.
They will take on Bayelsa United next in Yenagoa on Monday.
