Bauchi Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has reiterated that his administration will continue to partner with security agencies, traditional rulers, the Federal Government, and other development partners to enhance community engagement towards ensuring lasting peace for the growth and transformation of the State.
The Governor was speaking on Wednesday when he received the participants of the Air War Course (AWC), whose team was led by Air Vice Marshal Adebayo Gabriel Kehinde on a study tour to the state.
Bala Mohammed affirmed that his administration has been doing more in terms of ensuring lasting peace across the state, which has provided a space for both domestic and international investors that have been trooping to the state for investments.
He also asserted that his administration has the determination to foster the state’s economy with ICT.
The Governor enjoined members of the public to support security agents in these directives because, according to him, security is everybody’s business.
He acknowledged the sacrifices of the Nigerian Air Force Officers and Men as well as other security agencies in Bauchi State.
The Governor commended the Team for choosing Bauchi State for the study tour saying that his administration Inherited a huge challenge in the security sector asserting however that the present will improve coordination in the fight against terrorism and other vices.
Bala Mohammed said that his vision ‘My Bauchi Project’ encapsulated Community engagement and partnership with Security Agents which has assisted greatly in addressing the many security challenges facing the people.
The Governor also said that he has reduced to the barest minimum, rates of agitations through engagement and stakeholding where all the communities and tribes in the State have been given opportunities and carried along in the scheme of things.
Other security challenges in the state in the areas of farmers /herders clashes, banditry, and kidnapping, the Governor noted, traditional and religious Leaders have been urged not to compromise at all costs for the sake of peace.
He said the relative peace in the State accounts for his Administration’s continuous success in the areas of projects and programmes that have direct bearings on the lives of the people.
The Commandant of the Air Force WAR College, Air Vice Marshall Adebayo Gabriel Kehinde had earlier told the Governor that the participants were in the state for their study tour to study the security situation of the state.
He said that the other Team is in Plateau State for a similar mission and that the participants may inquire from the Governor about his Administration’s various measures in tackling insecurity in the State.
Bauchi State he noted shares borders with many States battling insecurity but the Governor has strived hard to ensure relative peace and stability in the state.
He then commended the Governor for the efforts and recognized Governor Bala Mohammed’s significant commitment to the Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies in Bauchi State for the growth and transformation of Bauchi State.
He assured the Governor of further commitment and support stating that good governance is the best foundation and guarantor of the state and national security.
