The Chief Executive Officer, Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, on Monday, appealed to the Senate Committee on Power to help source funds to complete ongoing projects.
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Power, Enyinnaya Abaribe, led the Committee on Power to hear directly from TCN the challenges in power transmission and how they can come in as lawmakers to address the problems.
According to an official post by TCN, “Engr. Sule Abdulaziz stated that TCN is focusing on grid expansion because of increasing demand for electricity and it does this through rehabilitation and reinforcement projects. Presently, TCN has more than 100 ongoing projects nationwide.
“He appealed to the Committee to help TCN source funds to complete these projects as some are stalled due to fund constraints. There are challenges like Right of Way issues, vandalism of transmission installations, etc. stalling project completion.”
