The Nigerian president, Bola Tinubu, has opened the African Counter-Terrorism Summit at the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) in Abuja.
This gathering, convened in collaboration with the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), is set to span from April 22 to 23, as disclosed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement released on Sunday.
As reported by Tribune Online, the summit aims to foster robust multilateral cooperation in combating terrorism and to redefine the global community’s collective approach towards addressing terrorism within the African continent.
Distinguished dignitaries gracing the occasion include Mr Vladimir Voronkov, the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism, Ms Amina Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, and His Excellency Patrice Talon, the esteemed President of the Republic of Benin, alongside other esteemed guests.
