The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Ayatollah Khamenei, has said his country demonstrated its power during the attack on Israel, regardless of the numbers its target hit.
Two weeks ago, Iran had shot a barrage of drones and missiles towards Israel in retaliation for the attack on its embassy in Damascus, Syria, on April 1.
But most of the drones and missiles were intercepted by the Israeli’s defence system.
However, Khamenei commended Iran’s Armed Forces for attacking Israel.
Speaking on Sunday, he said: “How many missiles were launched and how many of them hit their target is not the primary question, what really matters is that Iran demonstrated its power during that operation.
“In the recent operation, the armed forces managed to minimise costs and maximise gains,” Khamenei added, urging military officials to “ceaselessly pursue military innovation and learn the enemy’s tactics.”
But, in the early hours of Friday, explosions riddled over the Iranian city of Isfahan in what many believed to be a retaliatory attack from Israel.
