Members of the All Progressives Congress under the umbrella of Concerned APC Members (CAM), have frowned at the purported suspension of Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the party.
Arogidigba Global Journal reports that Ganduje was on Monday allegedly suspended by APC in his Ward in the Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano state.
The state leadership of the party, however, denied the alleged suspension, describing those behind it as impostors.
CAM, under the leadership of Okpokwu Ogenyi, while reacting to the development at a press conference on Tuesday in Abuja, called for the immediate arrest of those behind the alleged suspension.
Ogenyi stated that the perpetrators must be brought to book, to serve as a deterrent to others.
“It is with rude shock, we received the news of the suspension of the APC National Chairman of our party, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje by some members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP who disguised themselves as members of our party from his Ward of Kano State.
“The impostors even went far in using the name of our party’s legal adviser in Ganduje ward to announce the purported suspension of our National chairman without the prior consent of the said legal adviser even though a legal adviser lack the powers to suspend officers of the party hence such powers is vested on the ward chairman.
“Impersonation is a criminal offence punishable by law.
“We call on the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of State Security Service to immediately arrest the impostors and prosecute them to serve as a deterrent to others willing to orchestrate such a devilish act.
“If these impostors are not arrested and prosecuted immediately, in a short while, some members of the PDP or Labour Party may constitute themselves and suspend Mr. President from the APC.” Ogenyi said.
