A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the United Kingdom, Honourable Femi Durodola, has declared his intention to run for the chairmanship position of the party in the forthcoming congress in the country.
Durodola, a versatile APC UK member of the party, described himself as a unifier who will bridge the gaps and extend his hand of fellowship to all members of the party from all walks of life to ensure the growth of the party in the UK and establish cohesion with the national leadership in Abuja.
The event, held on Saturday in London, marked a new beginning in Nigeria’s ruling party’s politics in the United Kingdom. Guests took turns speaking about why Durodola, who is also a former Special Assistant to the Ex-Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Abiola Ajimobi on Transportation, should be elected the chairman of the party in the country. According to Kolawole Seidu, Femi Durodola is a multifaceted and adaptable politician who, through his antecedents since the days of the defunct Alliance for Democracy (AD) until the present, stands out.
Durodola was described as the icon who has the pedigree, experience, and foresight to take the party in the United Kingdom to the promised land. Also speaking, Engineer Don Anyam described the coming of Durodola into the foray as tactical and the best thing to have ever happened to the party in the UK. He hammered on building a strong party and establishing love in the party to ensure success in the coming Congress.
“We need to work together; we can achieve our goals if we work together; we have no enemies; all we want is a better party in the United Kingdom. I can assure you, the best man for the job is Femi Durodola,” Anyam declared. According to Honourable Andrew Taiwo, who led the South West regional block to the event, the whole of the South West APC in the country has queued behind Durodola.
“As I am talking to you here, the whole of South West is behind Honourable Femi Durodola. We have weighed all options and have decided to give way for our best to give direction. APC UK needs direction; this can only be achieved with a leader who is strategic and versed. Durodola represents both”, the South West APC UK Chairman reinstated his commitment to the aspiration of Femi Durodola.
In his contribution, the APC UK Interim Committee Secretary, J. K. Adebola, described the meeting as historic and promised to work with Femi Durodola to achieve his vision of a stronger APC in the United Kingdom. “We have not come here as a surprise; rather, we have come here to collaborate with you. Hearing about your past has rekindled our hope, and we won’t leave any stone untouched to ensure your success in the forthcoming congress,” says Adebola.
While declaring his intention to run for the high office of the chairmanship of the party in the country, Durodola, who mounted the podium amidst a shouting of joy from the members, expressed his delight, promising never to let anyone down when he becomes the chairman of the party. He listed as his priorities the unification of members, the bolstering of love and unity, and ensuring smooth continuity, among others.
“I will ensure the best for you all. Be sure that we are not here to fight anyone; rather, we are here to see to the success of our party in the United Kingdom. I believe in you. I stand here to present myself to you. I have consulted widely. I have all it takes. With humility, I stand here to inform you all that I, Femi Durodola, will run for the office of chairman of the All Progressives Congress, United Kingdom chapter, in the forthcoming congress.”

The Agoro of Okaka land said, “I will lead the diaspora to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; our president has laid a foundation for steady growth for our country. I therefore urged everyone in the UK to support me on this mission. I will also support the good work of our leaders in Abuja; the achievements recorded so far are monumental. I will rally around everyone to ensure the success of our party in the Ondo and Edo states and all future elections,” Durodola assured.
Durodola has a BSc in Political and Administrative Studies, an MSc in Economics and Business Finance, and an MBA with a specialization in Marketing Management. He also has an LLB in law from the University of Essex. In attendance are the party’s heavyweights, including Pastor Mrs. Magret Apoeso, Alhaji Ibrahim Yusuf, Hon. Seun Baiyewu, Alhaja Aolat Sule, Hon. Carolyn Onyebuchi Adelakun, Mrs. Deborah Fatogun, Hon. Francis Akpan, and Prince Olurebi, who led others from Manchester.
