The aspiration of a foremost aspirant in the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo, Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim, on Monday received a boost, as leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Igbotako, Okitipupa local government area, endorsed Ibrahim as their sole candidate.
The unanimous endorsement was announced by members of the party after the meeting of the party in the local government area, who said Ibrahim’s endorsement who hails from the council area was based on his track record of excellence in various capacities.
They noted that Ibrahim has not only served and represented the people but he had impacted positively on his immediate constituency while representing the area
Speaking, Chairman of APC Igbotako Ward 1, Hon. Adebolujo Adedoyin, who expressed optimism that Ibrahim will turn the fortune of the state around within a very short time at the Helms of affairs.
Adedoyin said Senator Ibrahim has proven to be the right leader to lead the Sunshine State at the moment
Adedoyin said, “We are gathering here to show to our leaders that we are voting for Senator Ibrahim as candidate of the APC here in Igbotako. This meeting is to reaffirm our commitment to the candidacy of our performing Senator.
“Senator Ibrahim had the capacity to deliver good governance. He has performed well at the National Assembly. We trust him and we urge all members of APC to vote for him.”
Also speaking, one of the leaders of the party, Comrade Emmanuel Afolagbade, appealed to President Bola Tinubu to provide a level playing field for all the aspirants while competence should also be given priority.
Afolagbade said they would visit APC members in the 18 local government areas to canvass support for Senator Ibrahim and support the governorship aspirant
He said the leaders and members of the party adopted Ibrahim as their consensus aspirant ahead of the party’s primary election scheduled for April 20, 2024.
He said the people have decided to unanimously adopt Ibrahim as their consensus aspirant for the primary election and believe in his ability to make the state great again.
