Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has charged Muslim faithful in the state not to relent in their efforts to pray for his administration.
The governor who made the charge via his Spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed while congratulating them on the occasion of the Eid-el-Fitr celebration in Osogbo, also called for unity and peaceful coexistence among all residents of the state.
“Congratulations to my Muslim brethren for seeing yet another Eid-el-Fitr celebration. In the last 30 days, we have fasted and prayed for both ourselves, family and nation.
“I want to urge you all to keep praying for us, pray for our administration, prayers are never too much and the Yoruba people will always say what is already good needs prayer and the one that is yet to be, also needs prayer.
“Let’s also make sure that now and beyond, we live in unity because united we stand and divided we fall”, the Governor stated.
The Governor also expressed commitment to the speedy completion of the Muslim Pilgrim Camp adding that his administration is committed to the completion of every project.
In his own message,the Senate Deputy Minority Leader representing Osun West Senatorial district, Hon. Kamorudeen Lere Oyewumi has charged Muslims to sustain Ramadan virtues and lessons and replicate the same in their daily lives for a better society.
The lawmaker in a statement in Osogbo on Wednesday, further advised them not to be carried away by only the pageantry of the Sallah, but rather use it for sober reflection.
He however appealed to them to project Islam through good examples of love, tolerance and peaceful disposition at all times saying, they are prerequisites for protecting the perception of the religion from distortion.
While expressing his commitment to the well-being and development of his constituents, he praised them for their resilience and patience in the face of economic hardship.
Oyewumi also admonished them to remain steadfast by applying the Ramadan virtues through sustained supplication, hospitality and good neighbourliness for the peace, security and economic prosperity of the senatorial district, state and nation.
Also, the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) commended Muslim faithful steadfastness and devotion throughout the holy month, edifying the Hadith of discipline, empathy, and charity.
The party chairman, Sunday Bisi in a statement in Osogbo however urged them all to carry the teachings of Ramadan into the year ahead, and uphold the values of honesty and selflessness,” as we continue to find grace and deliberate efforts to work together to bring sustainable peace and harmony to our communities.”
“As we celebrate this special occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, we would also like to express our gratitude to all Muslims in Osun State for their prayers and support during the month of Ramadan.”
“Your faith and devotion have been a source of strength for our government, and we look forward to fulfilling our promises and delivering more on our common goals as a people in the coming months.”
“May the blessings of Almighty Allah be upon you, your family and your neighbours on this holy occasion. May He shower you with His mercy and grace, and may we all be guided by His light. Ameen.”
In its own congratulatory message, the Osun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has felicitated Muslim faithful in the state and beyond on the occasion of the 2024 Eid-Ed-Fitr celebration.
The APC in a statement signed by its Director of Media and Publicity, Chief Kola Olabisi, today, on behalf of the state Chairman of the party, Alhaji Tajudeen Lawal, extolled the virtues of discipline, tolerance and high sense of comportment exhibited by the Islamic adherents in particular and members of the party in general throughout the holy month.
He enjoined them not to depart from the path of righteousness, selflessness and the spirit of alms-giving inculcated during the fasting period by reflecting and integrating the same in their daily conduct and relationship with others for the betterment of the state.
The APC chairman who applauded members of the party in the state for their resilience and loyalty thus far urged them to use the festive period to offer prayers for the successful tenure of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his cabinet particularly the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola.
“On behalf of the leadership and members of our great party in the state, I congratulate our Muslim brothers and sisters who are joining others across the globe to celebrate this year’s Eid El-Fitr, marking the conclusion of the Holy month of Ramadan.
“As we all know, Ramadan is a period of sober reflection, hence the need for our Muslim brothers and sisters to imbibe the spirit of brotherhood and good neighbourliness by extending an olive branch to fellow Muslims and non-Muslims during and after the festive period,” Lawal urged.
