The Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA, Hon. (Dr.) Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira has urged Muslims to uphold the virtues of Ramadan beyond its conclusion by fostering a spirit of compassion, and unity for the greater good of society.
While congratulating Muslims on this year’s Eid-el-Fitri celebration, he urged Muslims to imbibe the values and morals of the Holy Month of Ramadan outside of the glorious in their daily lives. He charged them to perpetuate acts of kindness and unwavering devotion to Allah beyond the conclusion of Ramadan.
In his Eid-el-Fitri message, Apatira called upon Muslims to seize the opportunity to continue their good deeds and deepen their spiritual connection through supplication and prayer. He encouraged them to beseech God for peace, unity, and the overall development of Nigeria, with a particular focus on Lagos State.
While extending heartfelt congratulations to Muslims in the state for reaching another Eid-el-Fitri, Apatira advocated for a celebration marked by moderation and compassion towards the less fortunate members of society and emphasised the importance of extending love and support to those in need during this joyous occasion.
Moreover, Apatira reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering inter-religious harmony within the council area. He underscored the significance of promoting good governance and ensuring that the welfare of the people remains central to the policies and programs implemented by the council.
Apatira highlighted the imperative of maintaining a sense of unity and solidarity among Muslims, as well as with individuals of other faiths and underscored the significance of collective efforts towards societal advancement and the cultivation of harmonious coexistence.
