Governor Dauda Lawal has felicitated with the Muslim community on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking end of the month-long Ramadan fasting, and urged prayers for peace in Zamfara and across Nigeria.
A statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, said that the Holy month of Ramadan provided an opportunity to pray and seek divine intervention for the country’s security situation.
The statement added that the Muslim community should continue to practice the lessons learned during Ramadan even after the month has ended.
The statement read in part, “Eid-al-Fitr is a time of great joy as it represents the successful completion of the fasting period and spiritual reflection in the Holy month of Ramadan.
“On Eid, Muslims express gratitude for the health and opportunities Allah has given them to fulfil their obligation of fasting.
“We should use this festive period to promote peace and harmony.
“To address Nigeria’s security challenges, we must watch out for each other, remain steadfast in our prayers, and support the government’s efforts to end all vices and criminalities.
