Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has announced a N10 million bounty for the arrest of the perpetrators behind the recent attack on Solomon Wombo, a member of the House of Representatives representing Katsina-Ala/Ukum/Logo federal constituency.
The incident occurred when gunmen invaded the private residence of a House of Representatives member in Katsina-Ala, injuring his housekeeper in the process.
According to reports, the attackers specifically targeted Wombo and demanded to know his whereabouts.
In a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Kula Tersoo, the governor expressed his administration’s determination to eradicate criminals from the state.

Governor Alia reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the suspects are apprehended and brought to justice. He urged the public to provide any information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.
The governor’s announcement of a N10 million bounty demonstrates the seriousness with which the state government is addressing the issue of insecurity and violence in Benue State.
According to the statement, “He says the government will offer 10M naira to anyone that will give useful information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects.
Governor Alia charged security agencies to work tirelessly to locate the suspects and bring them to face the full force of the law just as he admonished them to ensure greater security and safety for all citizens of the state.
He also urged the people of the state to remain calm, assuring that his administration will not rest on its oars until the state is made free of every form of criminality.
