Bauchi State Government has expressed its readiness towards the implementation of all the recommendations arrived at improving access to quality education service delivery that entails all the different agencies and departments that are working in the sector.
The implementation will be done through the Ministry of Education which is already working assiduously on the recommendations.
The assertion was made by the State Commissioner of Education, Dr Jamila Dahiru during the inauguration of Chairmen and Board members of parastatals under the Ministry held on Wednesday.
The Commissioner said that their selection and subsequent appointment as Chairmen and members to stir the affairs of various boards and agencies was a deliberate attempt by the Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed to infuse new energy and quality leadership that would assist him to drive the education sector for better productivity.
She stressed that “Your careful selection and appointment by the governor to form the management team of the various boards and agencies is not a mere coincidence.”
The Commissioner added “I believe it was done based on your track records of hardwork, commitment, industry and the passion you have shown to support him to move the education sector to better heights.”
According to her, “The Governor’s concern towards reviving the moribund educational system inherited on assumption of his office led him to initiate a state of emergency and also constituted the state education committee under the chairmanship of His Royal Highness, the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Adamu with all the First Class Emirs as members.”
The committee was charged with the responsibility of improving enrollment and retention in our schools through community mobilisation and public enlightenment thereby, boosting the completion process in Bauchi state.
Jamila Dahiru added “But that was not the only problems we are facing, we have issues around infrastructure, we have issues around lack of teachers, we have issues around improving the quality.”
“The state government has convened a state education Summit 2023 where critical stakeholders from within and outside the state, converged, deliberated and preferred solutions on how best to change the narrative of education,” She also said.
She congratulated them on their merited appointments, saying, “I wish to most sincerely call on all of us to cooperate with the sector to enable us operate a system full of operation and understanding.”
According to her, “This will enable us to complement the zeal and intention of our governor for finding access and quality education service delivery in Bauchi state.”

The parastatals include Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (BASUBEB), Bauchi State Special Schools Management Board, Bauchi State Agency for Mass Education, Bauchi State Agency for Nomadic Education and Bauchi State Library Board.
In a vote of thanks on behalf of the appointees, Chairman of SUBEB, Alh Yaya Adamu Duguri commended the Governor for rẹ constituting the Boards saying that it will reinvigorate effective service delivery in the sector.
He also assured that members of the boards will do their best to support the aspirations of the Governor in revamping and reforming the edification sector.
According to him, “With you as the Commissioner of Education, we don’t have any reason to fail. We are all responsible and committed individuals who have served in one capacity or the other before.”
