The Osun State Government has approved the immediate enforcement and implementation of new retirement age and length of service for teachers in the state civil service.
The approval, according to a circular issued by the State’s Head of Service, Ayanleye Aina, is also aimed at restoring normalcy across schools in the state.
The circular also directed those interested in enjoying the new retirement age to comply with the guidelines as stipulated.
The state government also directed the Osun State Ministry of Finance and the State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, to immediately stop the payment of salaries of teachers who have been enjoying the new retirement age without fulfilling the conditions attached.

Consequently, all those who have been enjoying the new retirement age and length of Service without fulfilling the necessary prerequisites have, by this Circular, ceased to enjoy such benefits until their compliance with the extant Circulars.
