Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, lawmaker representing Kogi Central senatorial district, has organised an Iftar event for Muslim constituents in her hometown of Ihima, Okehi Local Governmeent Area, as part of the ongoing Ramadan fasting.
Iftar is an evening meal after sunset that breaks the daily fast during the month of Ramadan. Over a billion followers of the Islamic faith worldwide observe it.
The event was well received by the constituents who thanked the Senator for her gesture and prayed for her.
Earlier, the senator also celebrated Easter with Christian constituents in Ihima at an event organised by the Christian Association Nigeria (CAN).
During the event, she promised to bring the best dividends of democracy to her constituents and thanked them for their support and prayers.
She pledged to pilot efforts to improve the quality of education in the district by restructuring schools and digitising education.
The Kogi lawmaker also highlighted the importance of quality education, saying she wouldn’t be where she is today without it.
She hopes to work with her constituents to transform the senatorial district into a better place for all.
